POSITION DESCRIPTION
DBL Law is seeking a full-time Estate Planning Paralegal to join our team in Covington, KY. The paralegal should be equipped with the knowledge and expertise to support a supervising attorney and enhance attorney efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity. They are essential to the success of our team and our firm. All DBL employees operate under a ‘client first’ philosophy, in all things, we seek to provide exceptional services to our client. This position reports to a Partner in the Covington, KY Office.

CLASSIFICATION:
Full-time, salary

COMPENSATION: $60,000-80,000 annually, commensurate with experience

JOB DUTIES

  • Assist attorneys in preparation of client work including hearings and trials; assist with discovery/investigating facts, researching, and other miscellaneous duties.
  • Assist with work related to Estate planning, guardianship, and wills.
  • Effectively prioritize work; monitor deadlines.
  • File and retrieve court documents electronically for State and Federal Court in Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky
  • Track and bill your time.
  • Information Management
  • Organize, index, and track files; maintain files which are organized chronologically, numerically, and/or by subject matter
  • Create, maintain, and retire files according to attorney/client preference
  • Assist attorneys in managing client contacts, emails, and hard copy documents
  • Other duties as assigned, when assigned duties are completed, you are expected to seek out additional work and ask how you can provide assistance to others.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Certification or degree in Paralegal studies (Bachelor’s degree preferred) or equivalent legal support experience.
  • Prior demonstrated experience and knowledge working in Estate Planning.
  • Proficiency with the following software products:
    • MS Office Products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
    • Nuance PDF Converter (bates stamping, redaction, editing, combing PDFs)
    • iManage/WorkSite (Maintain client matter files in paper or electronically as directed by attorney, scanning and adding hyperlink documents to indexes)
    • Secure e-mail
  • Investigative mindset for strong research, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent professional communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to proofread for grammar, spelling, punctuation, format, and content.
  • Ability to prioritize and monitor deadlines while working on multiple matters, with a sense of ownership.
  • Collaboration and teamwork.
  • Maintain firm and client confidentiality.
